2xCD set in hardback book style packaging complete with 34-page booklet with translations. This version of package/booklet is also larger than the version manufactured in the EU and distributed in the US and Europe.

On back cover and back obi:
02•7•10(02•7•8) ⓎⓍ STEREO/MONO MADE IN JAPAN

02•7•10(02•7•8) ⓎⓍ = first issue release date Japan (first issue international release date) / symbol that content is foreign origin / date availability for rental
STEREO/MONO: only CD2 has both mono and stereo tracks ("Stereo/Mono" tag is printed on bottom of CD2, while only "Stereo" is printed on same place on CD1)

This is first issue which reverses the audio channels and is generally considered to be a poor remaster. Unlike Europe and the US, Japan physically withdrew the album from the stores and it was unavailable until the revised package appeared on 28th August 2002. Thankfully, the ever helpful Japanese also made it easy to identify the different packages with a clover leaf graphic on the spine of the Obi for the revised audio packages and green dot sticker on front shrinkwrap (early copies of revised package that came with clover leaf but without green dot sticker were also withdrawn because the booklet staples hadn’t been folded over correctly).

Both digital remasters (this one with reversed channels and the new one that replaced it) were made at Abbey Road Studios in London by Peter Mew with Nigel Reeve.
Date of original (reversed channels) digital remaster: March 2002
