This release features the soundtrack for 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin'.

The title '少林寺三十六房 オリジナル・サウンドトラック' is 'The Shaolin 36th Chamber Original Soundtrack' in english. Also included in this release is an insert featuring photo's from the movie, information on the movie (in japanese) and the lyric's to the main theme ('少林寺三十六房のテーマ', which is 'The Shaolin 36th Chamber Theme' in english). The song lyrics are written in english and the title for the '少林寺三十六房のテーマ' track is actually listed as 'Shaolin Fighter 少林寺三十六房のテーマ' in the insert.

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin is also known as The Master Killer / Shaolin Master Killer, and is a 1978 Shaw Brothers kung fu film directed by Lau Kar-Leung/Liu Chia-Liang and starring Gordon Liu (aka Lau Kar-Fai / Liu Chia-Hui). Gordon Liu's name in japanese is 'リュー・チャーフィ'.

チン・ヤン・ユー (japanese pronouciation 'Chen Yan Yu'), the artist who composed this release (Tracks A2-A7 & B1-B5), is also known as Chen Yung Yu ('陳永煜' in Cantonese). He composed dozens of soundtracks for movies produced by Shaw Brothers during the 1970's and 1980's.

'グレッグ・スター' and 'マックス・モンゴメリー' are 'Gregg Star' and 'Max Montgomery' in english. Their '少林寺三十六房のテーマ' ('The Shaolin 36th Chamber Theme', english translation) song features on Track A1 & B6. Track A1 features vocals ('ヴォーカル' in japanese) by 山崎アキラ ('Akira Yamazaki', english translation), Track B6 is the instrumental ('インストゥルメンタル' in japanese) version of this track.

This soundtrack was released in Japan on CD in 2007, along with a DVD of the movie. The CD version features an additional version of 少林寺三十六房のテーマ (Track B6), featuring vocals from Gordon Liu.
