Toshiba/EMI Japan issued this US release as part of Japan's "Country Flag" OBI / EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP catalog which began in 1976. This is title n° 23 in the series, with U.S. flag OBI.

Originally released in US June 1966.

Recording notes:
-Pressed from a copy of a US master, as identified by the matrix stamp
-True stereo on all tracks, including A2 (I'm Only Sleeping), A4 (Dr Robert) and B1 (And Your Bird Can Sing) which have been in fake stereo on most US pressings of this album.

Packaging notes:
-Front and back covers are from the US design with a gatefold sleeve.
-Japan's Apple logo on the front jacket in place of where the Capitol logo would be. No Capitol or EMI logos on the back.
-Includes bio-lyric sheet insert (in English & Japanese)
-Disc comes with clear rice-paper inner sleeve.
-OBI states ‎¥2,500
-Some copies imported to North America may have come with an "imported Japan" Capitol-EMI sticker that sealed the outer plastic sleeve (see photo)
