Transparent vinyl. The records come with white inner sleeves in two separate white standard outer sleeves, sealed in transparent foil envelopes.

Release text:
"A record containing an empty groove is scanned visually. This image is then projected physically onto the surfaces (into the grooves) of two new records, in two different sizes and off-center positions.

The imaging has been achieved by modulating a carrier (sine) wave with the converted output of a brightness sensor (amplitude modulation). Like a sonar, the sensor moves over the images in spiral circles, registering the recesses and elevations of the record's surface. The sensor's trajectory exactly matches the vinyl groove into which it is subsequently cut. The image of the scanned record then miraculously appears miraculously on the new records' surfaces.

On playback, the modulated carriers can be perceived: a sinewave at 1760 Hz (a frequency chosen for balancing image resolution with vinyl's tendency for geometric distortion), probing the projected object."
