Recording date April 30, May 11, 1975. Recorded at Yamaha Music Foundation.
Originally due to be released on the ESP label (artwork had already been created), but the label collapsed before it came out.
Track 4 is a bonus CD track, not scheduled to appear on the original LP.
This is the second CD reissue of this material and comes in a mini-LP sleeve that reproduces how the ESP release would have looked, including an ESP catalog number, 3023.

The first 300 copies of the CD came with a bonus live CDr, recorded on 28 November 1984 in Hakodate, Hokkaido.
Meta Improvisation was the title that Takayanagi gave to short-lived experiments from 1984 to 1985 that incorporated elements of automatic playing using motors and electronics. Once he began 'Action Direct' performances in 1985, he ceased to use the name Meta Improvisation.
