"An Anthology of Past Misfortunes" is Japanese pro-CD-R compilation of the first two Vision Éternel EPs; "Seul dans l'obsession" (originally released in February of 2007 on Mortification Records) and "Un automne en solitude" (originally released in March of 2008 on Mortification Records). The compilation also includes 3 previously unreleased b-sides; 2 from the "Seul dans l'obsession" recording session and 1 from the "Un automne en solitude" session. The compilation was purposely released exactly two years after the first EP was released.

"An Anthology of Past Misfortunes" was limited to 100 copies. 100 posters were also pressed and given out for free to customers who pre-ordered the compilation in January of 2007. Following the release of the compilation, the remaining posters were sold for $1 extra on all orders of the CDs.
